Christmas is 8 months away. Who wants to hear that now? Definitely not me.

However, what you need to hear is open enrollment for individual coverage will start in only 6 months (November 1st). AND, the deadline to secure coverage for 2018 will end on December 15th. This is to encourage individuals to sign up prior to the beginning of the year.

Who will be offering for next year, not sure.
